Why I'm the best candidate: Peter Milczyn

Why I'm the best candidate: Peter Milczyn

Peter grew up in Mimico, lived in the Village of Islington area, and now he and his wife and daughter call the Sunnylea neighbourhood home.

Elected to council in the former City of Etobicoke in 1994, he was re–elected as councillor in the City of Toronto in 2000, 2006 and most recently in 2010.

He has represented this community for 16 years and has consistently fought for the needs of the community.

Milczyn played a key role re-development of the Etobicoke Motel Strip, now "Humber Bay Shores".  He successfully worked with the community to found the Queensway B.I.A. and he has always rolled his sleeves up to improve traffic flow, make local parks safe and address development issues – improving the quality of life for residents of his ward.

Peter is running for the Kathleen Wynne Liberals because they are the government that is committed to investing in communities and people, creating jobs and helping people in their everyday lives. This government is making unprecedented investments in public transit and infrastructure that Etobicoke–Lakeshore, and Ontario needs.

Milczyn has been running a positive, issues–based campaign offering solutions to the challenges facing the people of Etobicoke–Lakeshore.  His many years on council have taught him how to take the issues head-on through collaboration, consultation and effective planning.

Peter Milczyn will bring his experience and focus on smart, sustainable city building and fiscal responsibility to Queen’s Park.

Throughout his campaign, Peter has been meeting with hundreds of residents, talking to them about the issues that concern them the most, and the change that they want to see in their communities to make their every day lives easier.

What he is hearing, is that people care about education – they want their children to have access to full day kindergarten and a chance at university. They want to see better health care, and more home care for their aging parents.  And they want to have access to better transit so that their daily commutes are shorter, and they can spend more time at home with their families.

Peter is representing the party that has a strong track record and worked diligently since 2003 to make those things happen.

Peter has consistently advocated for improved transit in Etobicoke–Lakeshore and once elected, Peters’s priorities will include moving forward the construction of the Kipling Hub, advocating for a GO stop at Park Lawn to better service the south east of the riding, and pushing for a Bloor-Danforth subway extension.

Peter is committed to building what matters for the community and for the province.

P.C. Choo

In this by-election, voters have a choice. They can choose someone who will deliver results and hold the government accountable, or they can choose a politician who ignores the real challenges families face and does not deliver for you.

Angela Salewsky

I’m tired of the politics as usual, and I want better than the self-serving political maneuvering, the hyper-partisan and cynical politics, the scandal and hypocrisy that has recently dominated our political stage and left us exasperated and disillusioned.
