TORONTO - Dallas Green says that despite his burgeoning solo career, he still sees himself returning to sing for Alexisonfire eventually.

"Yeah, I mean, that's kind of always how we've been," Green said Tuesday during an interview in Toronto.

"(It's) just sort of back and forth, and we all take breaks and do our own thing, and sort of revisit (Alexisonfire). And as long as the ideas are there, then we'll continue, you know?"

Green is set to release "Little Hell" -- his third album under the name City and Colour -- on June 7.

Each of his first two solo records were certified platinum in Canada, and Green now appears poised for an international breakthrough as well. He just recently headlined a gig at London's storied Royal Albert Hall and has been included in the lineup for several major U.S. summer festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and the Sasquatch Festival.

Alexisonfire's last album was 2009's gold-selling "Old Crows/Young Cardinals."

While Green says he's still committed to continuing to sing for Alexisonfire, does he foresee a time when he'll have to put the project aside to focus on his solo work?

"I don't know," he responds. "I guess I just can't really say what the future holds. Now is now, and that's where I am. I'm just putting this record out. That's where my head is at right now.

"That's kind of how I work. I write songs and that's where I'm at, and we'll see what happens later on."
