Hazel McCallion is celebrating 30 years as the mayor of Mississauga and the city threw her a big bash Saturday night.

Hundreds came out to the Annual Mayor's Gala at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga for the event which is a fundraiser for arts and culture in the city.

This year there was some added sparkle to recognize McCallion's three decades at the helm of one Canada's largest cities. Talk show host Regis Philbin entertained the crowd with songs and comedy in honour of McCallion.

McCallion was first elected Mayor of Mississauga in 1978, and is one of Canada's longest serving mayors.
