TORONTO - Ontario Provincial Police say an autopsy has determined remains discovered north of Toronto are those of a missing Orangeville, Ont., woman.

In a release Tuesday afternoon, police said Sonia Varaschin's death has been ruled a homicide.

Varaschin's family alerted police when she failed to show up for work at a pharmaceutical company on Aug. 30.

Provincial police detectives and the Orangeville Police Service are continuing their investigation and say they believe that someone in the community holds the key to solving Varaschin's slaying.

Investigators believe Varaschin's body was moved in her car from her residence to the wooded area where her body was found in nearby Caledon.

Police are urging anyone who might have seen her white Toyota Corolla late Aug. 29 or early Aug. 30 to contact investigators.
