The suspects charged with murdering a seven-year-old girl are to remain in custody until at least the end of the month.

They were both in court today, via video link.

Donna Irving and Warren Johnson are each charged with first degree murder. Initial charges of second-degree murder were upgraded in September. 

They have been remanded in custody, and are to return to court on October 31.

Katelynn was found dead with obvious signs of trauma in a Parkdale apartment on August 3.

Irving had been charged with Katelynn's care while Katelynn's mother, Bernice Sampson, was sorting out some personal problems, which included problems with drugs.
