Eastbound lanes of Highway 403 in Brantford, Ont. closed following ‘fatal incident’

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a death near the Highway 403 overpass at West Street.

A fatal “incident” closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 403 through Brantford on Monday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police confirmed one person was killed near the West Street overpass. They did not disclose the cause of their death.

“Police are seeking the public’s assistance,” they said in a media release. “Anyone who was travelling in the area during the early morning hours, between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., [and] has dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed anything unusual, is asked to contact the Brant County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.”

The eastbound lanes of the highway, between the King George Road on-ramp and Wayne Gretzky Parkway off-ramp, were closed for most of the day.

No further details have been shared about the investigation.
