There’s snow on the ground in Toronto and the city could see more of the white stuff throughout the week.
Torontonians woke up to a few centimetres of accumulation Tuesday morning. Environment Canada had predicted two to four centimetres before the snow started falling late Monday afternoon.
The national weather agency says there will be periods of snow throughout the morning. There’s also a chance of flurries in the forecast on both Wednesday and Thursday.
“The overnight snow is easing and will quiet all together by late morning. We’ll even see sunny breaks before noon,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said.
The high is expected to climb to 1 C today but will feel like -8 with the wind chill. The temperature will drop to a low of – 8 C and feel like – 11 overnight.
“Under a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon, we’ll reach a high of 1C. That’s cooler than normal by a couple of degrees. And we’ll remain seasonably cool right through the long-range forecast.”
Temperatures are expected to remain about the same on Wednesday, but the high will drop to – 1 C on Thursday amid a mix of sun and clouds.
Partly sunny conditions hang on to close out the work week, albeit with Friday’s high remaining below freezing.
Flurries are in the forecast again to start the weekend with cloudy conditions and a high of 0 C on Saturday.
There are currently no Environment Canada weather alerts in effect for the city.
