New details have emerged about what happened when an allegedly impaired man got behind the wheel of a golf cart on Sunday.
Provincial police in Kawartha Lakes say they responded to the area of Victoria Road in Kawartha Lakes’ Laxton Digby Longford Township area around 1 a.m.
OPP say they had been called to the trailer park area for a collision involving a golf cart.
Police say the driver of the golf cart collided with a parked vehicle and then had a verbal altercation with the owner of the vehicle.
The supervisor of the trailer park then called OPP to notify them of the incident.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
Police say an investigation resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Clarington, Ont. man.
He now faces impaired driving charges, including a charge of having a blood alcohol concentration higher than the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
The man also had his licence suspended for 90 days as a result of the incident.
