Three 13-year-olds have been charged after allegedly robbing another teenager at knifepoint in Oshawa.

Durham police say officers responded to an armed person call in Oshawa Centre at 419 King Street East just after 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Investigators say four young men approached a 16-year-old male, threatened him with a knife and demanded his sweater and phone.

Three of the suspects were found by officers in the mall a short time later and taken into custody.

Police say three 13-year-old boys, all from Whitby, have been charged with robbery.

All three were released on an undertaking.

The youths cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Durham police say they are still looking for a fourth suspect described as a male between the ages of 13 and 17. He was wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, black pants, and grey and white shoes at the time of the robbery, police say.
