A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in a stabbing at a high school in Uxbridge on Monday.
Durham Regional Police said they received a call for an armed person at Uxbridge Secondary School School near Brock Street East and Main Street South at 11:45 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
Police said the suspect remained at the scene and was arrested without incident. The circumstances that led to the stabbing are not immediately known.
On Tuesday, police announced that the suspect, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, failure to comply with an undertaking, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
