Suspect identified in connection with Pickering shooting that injured 2: police

Police have identified a suspect who is wanted in connection with a shooting in Pickering last month that sent two people to the hospital.

Durham Regional Police Service said on Aug. 16, officers responded to a call for shots fired at around 1:10 a.m. in a parking lot near Liverpool and Kingston roads.

They said when officers arrived, they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

Police have now identified a male suspect in connection with this shooting.

In a release, Durham police said Mahiban Perinbanathan, 33, of Bradford, is wanted for multiple offences including aggravated assault, possess weapon - dangerous to public peace, and discharge firearm with intent to wound.

Perinbanathan is considered armed and dangerous, and police advise anyone who sees him to call 911.
