Police are searching for a man accused of sexual assault at a home in Oshawa on Tuesday night.
Durham Regional Police said the man knocked on the front door of a home in the area of Adelaide Avenue and Thornton Road and asked the resident if he could park his vehicle on their property.
The man, who was “familiar” with the homeowner, also asked if he could use the washroom, police said.
“Once the suspect entered the residence, he physically assaulted the victim before exposing himself,” police allege in a news release on Wednesday. The resident was able to run away and call the police.
When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled in a silver sedan.
In Wednesday’s news release, police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Daniel Robert Watson of Clarington.
He is wanted for assault, assault by choking, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and unlawfully being in a dwelling house.
Police urged those who see the suspect not to approach him and instead call 911 immediately. They are also asking anyone else with information about the incident to contact investigators at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1805 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
