Durham regional police say a loaded firearm and drugs were seized after officers executed a search warrant at a home in Bowmanville earlier this week.

In a news release, officials say members of the East Division Crime Team conducted a search warrant at a residence near Bowmanville Avenue and Hartwell Avenue on Nov. 6.

Police say officers seized a loaded handgun, a large quantity of cocaine and fentanyl, and cash.

As a result, four people were arrested at the home without incident.

39-year-old Andrew Robinson of Clarington Ont. is charged with:

  • Possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate
  • Possessing a loaded regulated firearm
  • Possessing a firearm with an altered serial number
  • Possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possessing a firearm while prohibited (four counts)

Derrick Crossey, 38, of Clarington Ont., Barry Beers, 65, of Clarington, and Kayla Donnison, 38, of Scugog Ont., are each charged with possessing cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say Donnison is also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

None of the charges have been tested in court but officials say all four were held for a bail hearing.
