Police are searching for three suspects after a fire was started inside a home in Oshawa, which had been the site of a shooting a few months prior.

Durham Regional Police Service issued a news release on Thursday saying officers responded to a house fire in the area of Richmond Street East and Ritson Road North at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said three males entered the home and started a fire before fleeing the area. Officers arrived at the scene and found the main floor of the residence engulfed in flames, police said.

A male was evacuated from the home and transported to a local-area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said, adding that fire services attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

Three male suspects fled the area in a black sedan prior to officers arriving at the scene, police said. They released a photo of the suspects and vehicle in connection with the incident.
