A 58-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly making threats and hate-related comments towards Tim Hortons employees in Whitby, Ont., earlier this month.
Durham Regional Police said the man attended several Tim Hortons restaurants and parking lots between Feb. 11 and 21 and made the alleged threats and comments.
He also allegedly threatened motorists.
No injuries were reported.
Police located the suspect in his vehicle on Feb. 21, and following a traffic stop, he was arrested without incident.
In a news release on Wednesday, the suspect was identified as James Newlands of no fixed address.
He has been charged with five counts of uttering threats and one count of criminal harassment.
