Two suspects are being sought after a fake handgun was found at a high school basketball game in Oshawa on Monday evening.
Durham Regional Police said officers were working at Durham College Athletic Complex for a basketball finals game when they responded to a fight in the lobby.
“Officers attempted to intervene; however, two males fled the area. A firearm was located on the ground after the altercation,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.
They said the firearm was later determined to be an imitation handgun.
No injuries were reported in what police believe was an “isolated incident.”
They have not released descriptions of the two wanted suspects.
