Three boys arrested for bringing two imitation guns to mall in Oshawa, police say

Three boys, including a 12-year-old, were arrested after imitation guns were seen at a mall in Oshawa on Wednesday night.

Durham Regional Police said they got called to Oshawa Centre shortly before 8 p.m. by security, who observed three males with a concealed handgun.

The Tactical Support Unit and frontline officers arrived and took the males into custody without incident, police said.

Following a search, officers found two concealed imitation firearms, police said.

In a news release on Thursday, police said the boys who were arrested are a 12-year-old, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old.

The three were released unconditionally to their parents but were issued formal trespass notices, banning them from the mall.
