14-year-old charged after allegedly brandishing imitation firearm, threatening students at Oshawa school

A 14-year-old is facing charges after allegedly brandishing an imitation firearm and threatening other students at a secondary school in Oshawa.

The incident happened April 14 at a school located in the area of Harmony Road North and Coldstream Drive.

The following day, after further investigation, Durham Regional Police said the youth turned themself into the authorities.

Investigators said they seized the firearm used during the incident.

Durham police charged a 14-year-old with possess weapon dangerous and uttering threats. The charges have not been tested in court.

Police cannot identify the youth due to the provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
