All eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Pickering are closed Sunday morning following what police describe as a “serious” multi-vehicle collision.
In a post to social media, Ontario Provincial Police say the closure is in effect at Brock Road, where emergency crews responded to the crash.
In an update issued shortly before 6 a.m., police say all eastbound collector and express lanes from Whites Road remain closed.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as they say the closure is “expected to be lengthy.”
The investigation is ongoing.
