A 29-year-old-man has been charged after police say he allegedly “exposed his genitals” and sexually assaulted an employee at a Pickering clothing store earlier this year.
Durham regional police say the first incident occurred on March 26, when a man entered a store inside the Shops at Pickering City Centre, located near Kingston and Liverpool roads.
“While using a changeroom in the store, the male exposed his genitals to customers and staff,” police said in a news release, adding that no employees or customers were physically injured.
Days later, investigators allege that same suspect returned to the store on April 2, and “sexually assaulted an employee.”
In that incident, police also confirmed the employee did not suffer physical injuries.
As a result, Brandon Edsel Sevilla-Zelaya, 29, of no fixed address, is charged with sexual assault, Indecent Act, three counts of Theft Under $5,000 and 12 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.
None of the charges have been tested in court but police say he was held for a bail hearing.
Anyone with additional information is asked to come forward.
