Durham Regional Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a dump truck in Scugog early Friday morning.
Police said it happened at around 6:50 a.m. in the area of Highway 7/12 and Blue Mountain Road.
A vehicle and a dump truck were involved in a head-on crash and when officers arrived on scene, the passenger vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames.
Police said the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The driver of the dump truck was assessed on scene for injuries,” Const. Nick Gluckstein said in an email to CP24.
The OPP will lead the investigation as the collision is in the jurisdiction of provincial police.
