Man accused of sexually assaulting teen employee at Whitby frozen dessert store

Ahmed Ashraf, 65, of Whitby has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual exploitation.

A 65-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old female employee at his frozen dessert business in Whitby more than four years ago.

Durham Regional Police said the man also allegedly exploited the victim when she was working at the store in 2021 between July and October.

As a result of their investigation, police arrested Ahmed Ashraf, of Whitby, and charged him with three counts each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

Investigators have released Ashraf’s image, as they are concerned there may be other victims.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
