Youth airlifted to trauma centre after being struck by falling tree in Oshawa: police

A boy was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre after being struck by a falling tree at a school yard in Oshawa.

Durham police say a youth was reportedly found without vital signs after being struck by a falling tree in Oshawa on Thursday afternoon.

It happened in the area of Oxford Street and Dwight Avenue at around 12:10 p.m.

In an email to CP24, Acting Sgt. Nick Gluckstein said officers found the young person at the scene and rendered medical assistance before the youth regained consciousness.

Ornge air ambulance was requested and is currently transporting the youth to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

“Officers remain on scene to investigate the circumstances,” he said.
