A 30-year-old woman who was employed at a youth group home in Oshawa has been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.
In February, officers with Durham Regional Police’s Special Victim Unit launched an investigation after receiving reports that a 13-year-old boy was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by a female staff member.
Police say that further investigation revealed that the suspect engaged the victim in a sexual relationship between September 2025 and January 2026.
On Wednesday police arrested 30-year-old Shari Shoshana McGregor, of Clarington. McGregor was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching, police said in a news release.
She has since been released from custody pending her first court appearance.
Police say they are concerned that there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact investigators.
