Two men and two women are facing charges in connection with a firearm and drug-trafficking investigation in Durham Region, where more than three kilograms of suspected fentanyl were seized.
Investigators with Durham Regional Police’s Guns and Gangs Unit said they finished their investigation on July 17 into a male suspect who was believed to be in possession of a firearm, and involved in the trafficking of drugs.
Police said the suspect and a woman were found in a vehicle in Ajax and subsequently arrested. After conducting a search of their vehicle, police said they found over three kilograms of suspected fentanyl.
Investigators then conducted a search warrant at a home in Pickering, where they arrested another woman without incident.
They said they seized a loaded firearm with prohibited overcapacity magazine, stolen from the United States, and a replica Uzi firearm.
Police said a fourth suspect turned himself into police on Sunday.
Jaelin Jared Gamble, 25, Natasha Marie Rotta, 32, Allyson Mae Adams, 27, and Isaiah Derrick Adams, 25, are facing various drug and firearm-related charges. The charges have not been tested in court.
