A pedestrian has been critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Ajax Tuesday night.
Durham police say it happened on Salem Road South, near Highway 401.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries, police say.
It is not immediately known if the driver involved remained at the scene.
Police closed Salem Road between Highway 401 and Chambers Drive due to the collision.
The Highway 401 westbound ramp to Salem Road was also blocked.
