A family dog was rescued from a house fire in Clarington early Friday morning after firefighters found it inside the smoke-filled home.
In an email to CP24, Clarington Emergency and Fire Services say they were called to a home on Doncaster Crescent, where it’s believed the fire may have started outside before quickly spreading inside.
Video from the scene shows a team of firefighters tending to the dog after bringing it outside.
Several firefighters can be seen holding an oxygen mask to the dog’s face as they provide emergency treatment.
Clarington Emergency and Fire Services confirmed the dog was safely removed from the home and given oxygen by responding firefighters.
The dog appeared to respond well to treatment and was alert, mobile and walking around on its own shortly after.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
