Two 15-year-olds from Oshawa have been arrested after two people were chased by individuals armed with knives over the weekend, according to police.
According to Durham Regional Police, officers responded Saturday to a report of unknown trouble in the area of Glen Street and Malaga Road, near Bloor Street West and Park Road South.
Police allege the two suspects chased two males while armed with knives. Both suspects allegedly fled before officers arrived.
Police said officers used drones to locate the suspects before they were arrested.
No injuries were reported.
The two youths, both from Oshawa, were charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
One of the youths is also charged with failing to comply with a sentence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police said the youth was subject to weapons prohibition conditions.
The second youth was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. Police said the youth was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants and was subject to weapons prohibition conditions.
The charges have not been proven in court. Both youths were held for bail hearings.
The identities of the accused are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
