Halton police are investigating an alleged arson involving a tow truck in Burlington last week.
In a release, police said that at around 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 26, Burlington Fire responded to a fire involving a tow truck that was parked on Morris Drive, near Harvester Road.
The truck had been hauling a flatbed trailer loaded with an orange Hitachi excavator, police said, and both the cab of the truck and the excavator were “fully engulfed in flames” when crews arrived.
Investigators have now determined that the fire was arson.
Three suspects were seen in the area in a dark-coloured pickup truck around the time of the fire.
Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the Harvester Road and Morris Drive area between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. to contact them at 905-825-4777, ext. 2316.
