Multiple suspects are in custody after police say they allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of luxury clothing during a home invasion in Oakville last month.
The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. on Feb. 24 at a home on Settlers Road.
Police said three masked suspects, including one armed with a hammer, forced their way into the home through the front door and confronted a female occupant.
Police said the female was confined to a closet while the suspects stole multiple items of designer clothing, totalling more than $70,000.
The suspects, police allege, then fled the scene in a Honda CRV. The victim was not physically injured.
“The Two District Criminal Investigations Bureau took carriage of the investigation and utilized a variety of investigative techniques in an effort to identify the suspects,” police said in a news release issued Wednesday.
Search warrants were executed at residences in Brantford, Ont. on March 13 and several items were seized at that time, police said.
The items included crack cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone pills, methamphetamine, two loaded Glock handguns, ammunition, stolen items from the Oakville home invasion, a Honda CRV stolen from Toronto, and licence plates stolen from Brampton, police said.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the home invasion and now face multiple charges, including robbery, forcible confinement, and disguise with intent.
Two other suspects face multiple gun and drug-related offences, police said.
