1 person in hospital following Oakville shooting

A male is in the hospital following a “targeted” shooting on Sunday morning in Oakville, police say.

The incident happened near Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line.

Halton Regional Police say they were called to that area at around 5:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

A male has non-life-threatening injuries, they added.

Investigators are seeking witnesses to this shooting as well as anyone with dashcam footage from the area, specifically recorded between 5 and 6:30 a.m. near Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line, Lakeshore Road between Fourth Line and Southdown Road in Mississauga, Ford Drive from Lakeshore to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), and Winston Churchill Boulevard from Lakeshore to the QEW.

Police do not have a suspect or vehicle description available at this time.
