Two 17-year-old boys have been charged in connection with three carjackings in Halton Region last week.

The first one happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the area of Derry Road and Farmstead Drive.

Halton Regional Police said two masked males approached a driver and forcibly removed him from his vehicle.

They then fled in the stolen vehicle heading towards Burlington.

The other two carjackings happened an hour later on Britannia Road at Walkers Line and at Cedar Springs Road, which are about five kilometres apart.

When officers responded, they located one suspect in one of the intersections and arrested him, police said.

The other suspect, meanwhile, was apprehended later that night.

Police said they recovered all three stolen vehicles.

In a news release on Monday, police said the two teenage suspects are facing a combined 13 charges, including robbery, theft of a motor vehicle with violence and disguise with intent.

As the two are under 18, they cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
