Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly entered a residence in Oakville and stole a Mercedes SUV that was parked in the driveway.

Halton Regional Police said on April 26, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to a home near Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard, west of Sixth Line.

Investigators say three male suspects had used a hammer to break a front door window, reaching inside to unlock the door and gain entry.

“The residents awoke to the noise and were confronted by a suspect holding a hammer and demanding keys to a Mercedes SUV parked in the driveway,” police said in a news release.

“After obtaining the keys, the suspects fled in the stolen SUV, along with a red SUV they had arrived in.”

Police said the stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied a short time later in Toronto.

No physical injuries have been reported.

This investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with further information, including any video footage (dashcam or surveillance) from the area of Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard between 2:45 and 3:10 a.m., is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
