Police in Halton Region say they’ll have an enhanced presence for “a large, planned youth gathering” at Burlington Beach on Saturday.
Halton Regional Police Service said these efforts, which are being undertaken in co-operation with community partners, are to “help ensure public safety.”
“Unsafe, disruptive, or unlawful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in enforcement action,” they said in a news release.
Investigators are urging parents and guardians to speak with their children and reconsider attending the area.
This action comes after Peel police stepped up their presence at several events in Brampton and Mississauga over the Victoria Day long weekend, when they learned that some individuals planned to attend them to set off fireworks and cause disturbances.
