Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a fiery collision that happened on Monday morning in Burlington “could have been disastrous.”
The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 5 and Brock Road.
Burlington OPP said they responded to a collision in that area at around 8:15 a.m.
Police say the driver of a dump truck hit a trailer that was being towed by a pickup truck. The trailer, they said, then burst into flames.
The pickup truck’s driver, a 36-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, they said in a post on social media.
The driver of the dump truck, a 55-year-old man from Cambridge, Ont., was not hurt. He has been charged with a red-light offence, the OPP said.
“This collision could have been disastrous. Keep your eyes on the road and focus on what matters,” police said.
