Police are asking for the public’s help after gunshots were fired in Halton Hills, striking a home and vehicles.
The shooting happened early Tuesday morning in the community of Georgetown, near 8th Line and 5 Side Road, which is north of Highway 401 and east of Trafalgar Road.
Halton Regional Police Service said they were called to that area at around 4 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.
They said officers at the scene determined multiple shots were fired at a residence and vehicles in the driveway.
“The home was occupied at the time of the shooting; however, no physical injuries were reported,” police said in a news release.
A vehicle was observed fleeing the area at the time of the shooting, they said.
Eighth Line between 5 and 10 Side roads was temporarily closed to traffic while police investigated.
Investigators say they believe this was an “isolated incident,” adding that there is no known threat to public safety.
Police are asking anyone with further information on this investigation, or anyone who may have security or dashcam video from the area of 8th line, and 10 and 5 Side roads, between the hours of 3:30 and 4:30 a.m. to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2416, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
