Oakville man charged after getting caught driving dad’s BMW at 184 km/h

A 26-year-old man from Oakville has been charged after allegedly driving his father’s BMW at a high rate of speed.

The incident happened on Friday just before 10 p.m. on the Toronto-bound Queen Elizabeth Way near Dorval Drive in Oakville.

Ontario Provincial Police said members of its Burlington Detachment were “conducting stationary speed enforcement” when they observed and pulled over a blue BMW that was allegedly travelling at 184 km/h.

The vehicle’s 26-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving and received a summons to attend court.

Police said his licence is suspended for 30 days.

The vehicle, which investigators noted belongs to the man’s dad, has been impounded for 14 days.
