Hamilton collision leaves 44-year-old motorcyclist dead

A motorcyclist is dead following a collision in Hamilton on Tuesday night.

Ontario Provincial Police said it happened at the intersection of Highway 6 and Upper James Street around 11 p.m.

The motorcycle was travelling south on Upper James Street when it collided with a northbound truck that was turning left onto Highway 6, police said.

The rider, a 44-year-old man from Norfolk County, sustained critical injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the truck was not physically injured and remained at the scene.

“No charges have been laid at this point, and the investigation is ongoing,” police said.
