A 34-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 403 in Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
Police say a motorist was travelling westbound on Highway 403, past Aberdeen Avenue, at around 4 p.m. when they collided with a pedestrian on the highway.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say emergency resuscitation attempts at the scene were unsuccessful and the pedestrian — a man from Hamilton—was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the two occupants of the vehicle were uninjured and stayed at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are unclear at this time.
The OPP say it took about five hours to investigate the collision and cleanup the westbound lanes of Highway 403.
“No charges are expected a this point and the investigation is ongoing,” a news release reads.
Police are asking anyone with additional information or footage of the collision to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
