Two charged in Norfolk County drug trafficking investigation; one faces firearm-related charges

Two people have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation led by the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, with one of the accused also facing multiple firearm-related charges connected to a separate incident in Simcoe.

Police say the investigation concluded on Friday at approximately 10 p.m. when members of the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad arrested two people at a location on Baldwin Street in Tillsonburg.

The arrests were made in connection with a Norfolk County drug trafficking investigation.

“One of the individuals was also wanted on an outstanding warrant after being identified as a suspect in an incident involving a firearm at a residence on Kent Street North on Saturday, January 10, 2026,” police said in a media release.

During a search, officers seized an unspecified amount of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with Canadian currency and a loaded firearm, police said.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Brantford resident has been charged with the following:

  • Forcible confinement (three counts)
  • Robbery using firearm restricted or prohibited (two counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (two counts)
  • Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order (two counts)
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order (two counts)
  • Disobeying order of court (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada

A 21-year-old, who has no fixed address, also faces charges including:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada
