The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says a 57-year-old man from Kingston, Ont. has been charged after officers intercepted a package containing a life-sized child sex doll.
According to the CBSA, the package came from China and arrived at the Hamilton airport, addressed to a man in Kingston.
“Upon examination, the CBSA determined the parcel contained a life-sized doll categorized as child sexual abuse and exploitation material. The CBSA engaged the Kingston Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit for further investigation,” the CBSA said in a news release.
Kingston police searched a home in the area of Barnsley Crescent and Acadian Drive on Feb. 3.
The accused, who was not named in the CBSA news release on Tuesday, is charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM), importing CSAEM, and failure to comply with a long-term supervision order.
The CBSA said the accused was subject to a long-term supervision order as a result of previous convictions for child sexual offences.
An investigation remains ongoing and additional charges could be laid, the CBSA said.
