Brantford Police say one person was found dead shortly after a disturbance between two men was reported Monday night at a local motel.
Officers were called to the unnamed business, at Colborne Street and Locks Road, around 7 p.m.
A man was found deceased at the scene and police said he appeared to have been assaulted.
They shared no further information about the victim.
The second man, a 42-year-old from Brantford, was then charged with second-degree murder.
“Police believe the two parties are known to each other and that this an isolated incident,” a media release said. “No other suspects are wanted by police.”
