Hamilton police are searching for suspects following a shooting in Stoney Creek on Monday night.

It happened at around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Highgate Drive and Upper Centennial Parkway.

Police said officers arrived at a townhouse complex in the area and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Investigators believe the shooting involved occupants of a dark-coloured sedan, which fled the area shortly after the incident,” police said in a news release.

“The vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound on Highgate Drive before turning southbound onto Upper Centennial Parkway.”

Investigators say they believe the incident was “targeted” and are asking anyone with information to contact the Hamilton Police Shooting Response Team at 905-546-4883 or via email at shootingresponseteam@hamiltonpolice.ca.

“Hamilton Police are asking residents, businesses, and motorists who were travelling in the area of Upper Centennial Parkway and Highgate Drive between 7:50 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on February 23, 2026, to review any dash camera, residential, or commercial surveillance footage that may assist investigators,” the news release read.
