A man reported missing from a mental health facility in Hamilton has been found.
Hamilton Police said Barry Dip was released on an authorized day pass from St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s West 5th Campus. He was supposed to return by 9 p.m. Tuesday but failed to show up.
The facility cares for those with mental health and addiction issues.
Police warned that Dip posed a risk to the public if he stopped taking his medication and advised anyone who spotted him to call 911 immediately.
They said he had known ties to Hamilton, Toronto, Guelph, Waterloo and Halton Region.
A Form 49 committal warrant was issued for Dip on Wednesday morning.
Hours later, he was found in Grimsby and arrested without incident.
“As a result of the investigation, charges are pending for Barry Dip,” police said in a media release.
They did not share what those charges might be.
