Porter Airlines says it will be launching new service between Ottawa and Hamilton this summer.

Starting June 22, two daily flights will connect the Ottawa airport with Hamilton, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each lasting approximately an hour.

“This new route gives passengers more options and greater convenience. Hamilton travellers can now fly seamlessly to Ottawa and easily connect to destinations across Atlantic Canada and the U.S. East Coast, including Boston and New York,” said Andrew Pierce, Porter Airlines vice president, network planning and reporting in a news release.

“At the same time, Ottawa passengers gain direct access to Hamilton, the gateway to Niagara region wineries, 100-plus waterfalls and a vibrant culinary scene - there’s lots to explore for every type of visitor.”

This announcement follows Porter’s move to add flights to Newfoundland and Labrador starting June 10. The airline is also adding non-stop flights from Ottawa to Windsor and Sudbury on May 1, to Kelowna as of May 13.

Porter also recently announced regular service between the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport and Hamilton.
