Woman abducted, sexually assaulted in Hamilton, suspect at-large

Police in Hamilton are “actively” searching for a male suspect who allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted a woman late Saturday evening.

The incident happened in the city’s East Mountain area.

Investigators have not said exactly where or when the attack occurred.

According to Hamilton Police Service, the victim was walking home when she was forced into a vehicle and driven to a separate location where she was sexually assaulted.

They say what happened “appears to be a targeted incident.”

“The victim has been located, and has been medically assessed and released,” police said in a news release.

The suspect is described as Black male, in his late 20’s to early 30’s with a medium build and standing five foot eight. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.

The suspect, police, say was operating a vehicle, however they do not have a description available at this time.
