Teen driver injured after vehicle plunges off Hamilton cliff

Two people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash on Highway 6 in Hamilton causing road closures.

A teenage driver was injured overnight after a vehicle went over an escarpment in Hamilton.

The incident happened in the area of Mountain Brow Boulevard and Fennell Avenue East.

It appears a vehicle went through a fence at the end of the roadway and plunged approximately 100 feet over the escarpment.

Hamilton police say the driver, believed to be a teenager, sustained minor injuries.

Police add it is unclear how many people were inside the vehicle at the time.

The vehicle was later removed by a tow truck several hours later and brought out along the rail trail near Wentworth Street South.

No charges have been laid but the investigation is ongoing.
