Police charged a 28-year-old after a man was stabbed in downtown Hamilton early Tuesday morning.
It happened at around 3:30 a.m. in the area of King Street and Victoria Avenue North.
Hamilton Police said they initially heard that a man had been injured and that the suspect stayed in the area.
Officers said they found a 26-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso when they arrived at the scene.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they found the suspect minutes later and arrested him.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. Police did not identify the suspect.
The charges have not been tested in court.
