Teenage girl shows up to Hamilton hospital with gunshot wounds

Hamilton police are investigating after a teenage girl showed up to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said they were called to a local hospital at around 8:15 p.m. on April 8.

When they arrived, they discovered a 17-year-old girl who had come to the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

“At this time, details surrounding the incident remain unclear and the parties involved are not cooperating with the investigation.,” the news release read.

“Officers are continuing to gather information to determine where and how the shooting occurred.”

The victim is recovering from her injuries, police added.
