One person has died following a shooting in downtown Hamilton on Thursday night.
Hamilton police said a call came in shortly before 6:30 p.m. for a shooting at 191 Main St. W, near Caroline Street South.
“Upon arrival, one male victim was located with injuries consistent with a gunshot and was transported to hospital in critical condition,” police told CP24.
They said the victim has since been pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.

It is Hamilton’s third homicide of the year.
Police added that they believe there may be more injuries among the parties who fled the scene.
“We are working on suspect(s) description at this time. No firearm has been recovered yet,” police said.
The circumstances that led to the shooting are not immediately known.
They are asking the public to stay out of the area while they investigate.
191 Main St. West is an apartment building managed by the CityHousing Hamilton Corporation, a municipally owned affordable housing provider. A supportive housing program for seniors and a youth transitional housing program are operating in the building.
